v2rayNG (2dust/v2rayNG)

What is this?
v2rayNG is an Android client for V2Ray that lets you connect through proxy servers using either the Xray core or the v2fly core, supporting protocols like VMess, VLESS, Trojan, Shadowsocks and SOCKS5.
Is this an app I install on my phone, or a library?
It is a standalone Android app you install as an APK, not a library or SDK; there is also a separate desktop counterpart called v2rayN for Windows/Mac/Linux.
How do I get it running?
Download the latest APK from the GitHub Releases page, install it on your Android device, then add or import a server profile (VMess, VLESS, Trojan, Shadowsocks, etc.) to connect.
Do I need my own server or subscription to use it?
Yes, v2rayNG is only the client; you need a working V2Ray/Xray-compatible server or a subscription link to actually route traffic through it.
Any catches before I rely on it?
The v2ray core bundled in the prebuilt aar can be outdated compared to upstream, and the in-app downloader for enhanced geoip/geosite data files itself requires an already-working proxy to fetch them.
Are the release files safe from tampering?
Release files are GPG-signed so you can verify their authenticity and integrity, guarding against mirror, ISP, or CDN hijacking of the download.
What protocols and cores does v2rayNG support?
It supports VMess, VLESS, Trojan, Shadowsocks, SOCKS5 and XTLS, and you can choose to run them on either the Xray core or the v2fly core.
Does it work on an emulator?
Yes, v2rayNG can run on Android emulators, and on Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) you need to grant VPN permission manually with 'appops set [package name] ACTIVATEVPN allow'.
