What is this?
SimpleMindMap (思绪思维导图) is a mind-map project with two parts: an open-source, framework-independent JavaScript mind-map library plus a web app, and a separate closed-source desktop client with plugins.
Is this repo a JS library or a full app?
This repo contains a dependency-free JS mind-map library plus a companion web app built on top of it with Vue2.x and ElementUI; the polished desktop client and the Obsidian/uTools plugins live in separate closed-source repos.
How do I use the library or self-host the web app?
You can import the dependency-free library directly into your own web product, or deploy the bundled Vue2.x/ElementUI web app yourself since it supports working on local files and self-deployment/customization.
Do I need Vue to use the core library?
No, the core mind-map library has no framework dependency; only the included example web app requires Vue2.x and ElementUI.
Is this repo actively maintained?
The open-source library and web app in this repo are now in low-maintenance mode; active development happens instead in the closed-source desktop client and plugins.
Is there a ready-made desktop app too?
Yes, a separate closed-source desktop client supports Windows, Mac and Linux, with the UI available in Chinese, English and several other languages.
What file formats can I import or export?
It can import XMind, FreeMind, Markdown, Txt and Xlsx files, and export to PNG, XMind, SVG, PDF, Markdown, Txt, Xlsx, FreeMind, Mermaid and HTML.
What diagram types besides classic mind maps does it support?
Besides mind maps it supports logic-structure diagrams, catalog/org charts, timelines, fishbone diagrams and tables, plus hand-drawn style themes and AI-generated themes.
Are there plugins for other apps like Obsidian?
Yes, there's an Obsidian plugin, and the desktop client is also published in the uTools plugin marketplace (searchable as '思绪').
What should I do if macOS refuses to open the app?
If macOS reports it as untrusted or moves it to trash, you need to run a specific terminal command mentioned in the README before launching it successfully.
