What is this?
Deep Playground is an interactive, browser-based visualization that lets you build small neural networks and watch them learn in real time, written in TypeScript using d3.js.
Is this a library I add to my project, or a standalone app I open in a browser?
It is a standalone browser visualization, not a library — you build it and serve it as a static web app rather than importing it into code.
How do I run it locally?
Run npm i to install dependencies, npm run build to compile the TypeScript/HTML/CSS into dist/, and npm run serve to serve that folder in your browser; npm run serve-watch gives a live reload loop while editing.
What do I need installed before building it?
You just need Node.js and npm; the project itself only pulls in d3, material-design-lite, and seedrandom as runtime dependencies.
Is this an official Google tool I can rely on for production work?
No — it is explicitly a community/demo project, not an official Google product, so treat it as a teaching sandbox rather than a production ML tool.
What exactly is 'Deep Playground'?
It is the project's full name — the interactive neural network visualizer behind playground.tensorflow.org, built in TypeScript with d3.js for rendering.
Can I host my own version after building it?
Yes — the same way the owners publish updates, by running git subtree push --prefix dist origin gh-pages to push the compiled dist/ folder to GitHub Pages.
