What is this?
A collection of lists of public BitTorrent trackers that is checked and updated automatically every day, intended to be added to torrents or magnet links to improve peer discovery.
Is this one list or several?
It is several separate lists split by protocol and size, e.g. trackersbest (20 trackers), trackersall (79), trackersalludp, trackersallhttp, trackersallhttps, trackersallws, trackersalli2p and trackersallyggdrasil, plus IP-address versions for DNS issues.
How do I actually add these trackers to my torrents?
Copy the raw URL of the list you want straight into your torrent client's tracker settings, or use one of the third-party tools listed (bittorrent-tracker-editor, a Deluge plugin, or scripts for Transmission, qBittorrent and aria2) that fetch and inject the list automatically.
Do WebSocket, I2P or Yggdrasil trackers need anything extra?
Yes - WebSocket (WebTorrent/ws/wss) trackers only work with a handful of clients, I2P trackers need an I2P Router plus a compatible client like qBittorrent, BiglyBT, Tixati or I2PSnark, and Yggdrasil trackers require the Yggdrasil Network Router installed.
How often are the lists refreshed and what counts as a duplicate?
A bot automatically checks the trackers and updates all the lists daily; trackers sharing the same domain or resolving to the same IP are removed as duplicates.
How are trackers ordered within a list?
Trackers are sorted from best to worst by a mix of popularity and latency.
What if a tracker domain has DNS issues?
IP-address versions of the main lists (trackersbestip, trackersallip, trackersallyggdrasilip) are provided so you can bypass DNS resolution entirely; these can be shorter since Cloudflare IPs are stripped out.
Can I report a broken tracker or suggest a new one?
Yes - open a new GitHub issue to report a tracker that is not working properly or to suggest an additional public tracker to add.
