Installation

AriaNg now provides three versions, standard version, all-in-one version and AriaNg Native. Standard version is suitable for deployment in the web server, and provides on-demand loading. All-In-One version is suitable for local using, and you can download it and just open the only html file in browser. AriaNg Native is also suitable for local using, and is no need for browser.

Prebuilt release

Latest Release: https://github.com/mayswind/AriaNg/releases

Latest Daily Build (Standard Version): https://github.com/mayswind/AriaNg-DailyBuild/archive/master.zip

Building from source

Make sure you have Node.js, NPM and Gulp installed. Then download the source code, and follow these steps.

Standard Version
$ npm install
$ gulp clean build
All-In-One Version
$ npm install
$ gulp clean build-bundle

The builds will be placed in the dist directory.

Usage Notes

Since AriaNg standard version loads language resources asynchronously, you may not open index.html directly on the local file system to run AriaNg. It is recommended that you can use the all-in-one version or deploy AriaNg in a web container or download AriaNg Native that does not require a browser to run.

Translating

Everyone is welcome to contribute translations. All translations files are put in /src/langs/. You can just modify and commit a new pull request.

If you want to translate AriaNg to a new language, you can add language configuration to /src/scripts/config/languages.js, then copy /i18n/en.sample.txt to /src/langs/ and rename it to the language code to be translated, then you can start the translation work.

What is this?AriaNg is a modern web frontend for aria2, the command-line download utility, making it easier to control via a browser-based UI.
Is this a standalone app or does it need aria2 running separately?It's just a frontend written in pure HTML and JavaScript that talks to aria2's RPC interface; you still need aria2 itself running somewhere to actually download anything.
How do I get it running?Grab a prebuilt release (standard, all-in-one, or AriaNg Native) and either host it on a web server or just open the single HTML file locally; to build from source run npm install then gulp clean build (or build-bundle for the all-in-one version).
Do I need Node.js to use it, or only to build it?Node.js (14+), npm and Gulp are only needed if you build from source; end users can just download a prebuilt release and open/host it.
Can I just double-click index.html to open the standard version?No — the standard version loads language files asynchronously so opening index.html directly from the local filesystem doesn't work properly; use the all-in-one version, AriaNg Native, or host it in a web server/container instead.
Does it work on mobile, or just desktop browsers?It uses a responsive layout so it works on both desktop and mobile devices.
What task management features does it offer?You can sort tasks by name, size, progress, speed, etc., search and retry tasks, reorder by dragging, view BT peer client info and health percentage, filter files by type or extension, and see a tree view for multi-directory downloads.
Can I connect to multiple aria2 servers from one AriaNg install?Yes, it supports multiple aria2 RPC hosts, so you can manage several aria2 instances from the same interface.
Does it support other languages besides English?Yes, it has multi-language support with community translations already available for Czech, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Russian, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese, with more welcome via contribution.
Is there a dark mode?Yes, AriaNg includes a built-in dark theme.
