What is this?A free public course on basic HTML5 and CSS3 for complete beginners, published by Prof. Gustavo Guanabara as a GitHub repository.
Is it video lessons or written material?Written material, not videos: lesson PDFs plus the source code for each exercise, which you can view running directly through GitHub. There are also HTML challenges to solve on your own.
How do I start using it — do I need to install anything?Nothing to install. Open the lesson PDFs from the README links, study each exercise's code, run the exercises right from the repository, then try the HTML challenges yourself.
Can I reuse the material in my own book or paid workshop? No. Any use must keep the reference to the original author, and replicating the content — in whole or in part — into books or handouts for financial gain is explicitly forbidden.
Is it only for self-learners, or can teachers use it in class too? Both. It targets beginner students, and teachers are explicitly allowed to use the full content with their classes, as long as they keep the reference to the original author.
What language is the course material in?Portuguese — the course is Brazilian (the cursoemvideo topic refers to the Curso em Vídeo project), and both the README and the lesson material are written in Portuguese.
Does it cover CSS3 as well as HTML5?Yes. The material teaches basic HTML5 and CSS3 together, with guided exercises for both plus a separate set of HTML-only challenges to solve on your own.
