Welcome. This is a public collection of ADK recipes — small, runnable agents that show how to solve real problems with the Agent Development Kit. Fork one as the starting point for your own project, or browse the collection to learn the patterns.

Whether you're building a customer service bot, a research agent, or something entirely new, the recipes here give you a working foundation instead of a blank page.

Recipes live in two places:

Each recipe has its own README.md with setup and run instructions.

Prerequisites

Install ADK from the ADK Get Started guide. Language SDKs:

Contributing a recipe

Start with the Recipe Checklist — one page, everything you need to ship. If you want the full context and tooling reference, the Recipe Handbook has the deep detail.

Repo skills — the AI coding-assistant helpers used to build this repo (recipe scaffolding, manifest generation, pyproject alignment, and more) — live in .agents/skills/. Not to be confused with vertical skills, which are recipes shipped to users under skills/<vertical>/<solution>/.

What is this?A public collection of recipes for Google's Agent Development Kit (ADK): small, runnable agents that show how to solve real problems. Fork one as a starting point for your own project, or browse the collection to learn the patterns.
Is this a library I install, or a bunch of example code? It's example code: a repo of self-contained, runnable agent projects. Each recipe is its own mini-project with its own README, meant to be forked or copied rather than installed as a dependency.
How do I get a recipe running?Install ADK first via the official Get Started guide, then follow the setup and run instructions in the README of whichever recipe you pick — each one documents its own steps.
Which programming languages can I write these agents in?The Agent Development Kit ships SDKs for Python, TypeScript, Go, Java, and Kotlin. The repo itself is primarily Python, so expect most recipes to be Python.
Can I take a recipe straight to production? No — the README says recipes are for demonstration and as starting points, not production use. The repo is also not an officially supported Google product and is excluded from Google's OSS bug-bounty program.
How is the collection organized? Two folders: core/ holds canonical patterns curated by the agents-cli team — small, focused recipes that teach one thing well, like OAuth flows, session memory, guardrails, and RAG. contrib/ holds broader community examples, each targeting a specific use case or industry workflow.
What kinds of agents can I build from these recipes?Deliberately broad: the collection names customer service bots and research agents as examples, but contrib recipes cover specific use cases and industry workflows. The idea is a working foundation instead of a blank page.
Do the recipes play nice with AI coding assistants? The repo itself was built with them: .agents/skills/ ships assistant helpers for recipe scaffolding, manifest generation, and pyproject alignment. Those are separate from vertical skills, which are recipes shipped to users.
