What is this?A collection of short CSS code snippets for all your development needs, maintained by the 30 seconds of code organization on GitHub.
Is this a CSS library I add to my project, or just something to browse? It is a reference collection, not a library — there is nothing to install. You browse the snippets on the project's website or in the repo and copy what you need into your own code.
How do I find the snippet I need?On the website's Search page you can search by name, tag, language or a snippet's description — just start typing. You can also browse the whole CSS Snippet collection and click tags at the top to narrow it down.
Is this repository still the place to get the snippets? No. The repo is archived: as of May 2023 all 30-seconds content repositories were merged into the single 30-seconds-of-code repository, where activity continues.
Is this for beginners learning CSS or for working front-end developers? Both. Snippets are short and each comes with an explanation and examples, so it works as a learning resource and as a quick reference for everyday front-end work.
Can I copy these snippets into my own projects?Yes. Snippets are under the CC-BY-4.0 license unless explicitly stated otherwise, so you can use and adapt them as long as you credit the source.
Where should someone new to CSS start with this collection?Open the CSS Snippet collection on the website and use the tags at the top to take one topic at a time — snippets are short and explained, so they work as mini-lessons.
What is the project's website built with? The website is powered by Netlify, Next.js and GitHub.
